Lavora come coreografa e consulente coreografica in italia e all’estero. 

Collabora con vari registi, in particolare da due anni con Giovanna Cordova nella creazione di vari spettacoli in scena al prestigioso teatro Olimpico di Vicenza in occasione  della stagione “Muoiono gli dei che non sono cari ai giovani” diretta da Giancarlo Marinelli.

Con Caterina Simonelli regista della compagnia IF Prana firma le coreografie degli spettacoli Grow co.prodotto dalla Compagnia Lombardi Tiezzi, Family affair, Scimmie, I sold my soul, Untill 84 e firma la regia di Until 84 2.0, spettacoli  prodotti dalla compagnia IF Prana con il supporto della regione Toscana.  

Nata a Viareggio nel 1984, formata in tecnica Nikolais, improvvisazione, release, contact,  teatro e pedagogia. Significativo per la sua formazione artistica l’incontro con Carolyn Carlson, Paolo Mereu, Simona Bucci, Charlotte Zerbey e Alessandro Certini, con i quali studia per 5 anni. 

Dal 2008 vive e lavora ad Amsterdam dove collabora e studia  con artisti locali ed internazionali come Katie Duck, Kenzo Kusuda, Makiko Ito, Vincent Cacialano, Micheal Schumacher, Julyen Hamilton. Utilizzando e rielaborando varie tecniche di danza e teatro, sviluppa in questi anni il suo particolare approccio alla coreografia basato sull’improvvisazione e la ricerca interdisciplinare tra danza musica e luci. In questo metodo usa l’immaginazione pittorica come ispirazione e la consapevolezza anatomica del corpo come base tecnica. 

Nel 2011 fonda la compagnia MonoCollective con cui crea la trilogia Falling e molte altre performance attraverso le quali sviluppa il proprio linguaggio basato sul teatro fisico. Più tardi con la creazione del pezzo On Being Ill, diretto da Emese Csornai (artista visiva) crea un metodo per tradurre un concetto visivo in movimento. Questo metodo ha ispirato Silvia e la sua collega ad avviare il progetto The Pool, che vede coinvolti 4 media, danza, musica, luci e antropologia.  

Dal 2009 Bennett crea molte performance per bambini con il supporto del festival 2TurvenHoog, diretto da Ingrid Woolf, gli spettacoli si basano sulla ricerca Childhood and improvisation sviluppata con Makiko Ito nel progetto Wonderland ed in seguito rielaborata da Bennett applicando i principi di pedagogia e teatro alla relazione con l’infanzia, da cui nasce anche il testo Diario di palco.

Dal 2015 collabora con varie realtà italiane come Company Blu, Aldes, Compagnia Simona Bucci, IF Prana, Tema Cultura.  Viene invitata a dare seminari di formazione presso Magpie summer workshop (diretto da Katie Duck – Amsterdam), Tias (Isole Canarie), Spiel Festival (Austria), Attivisti della danza (Firenze), La Palestra (Vicenza).

She works as a choreographer and choreographic consultant in Italy and abroad.

She collaborates with various directors, in particular for two years with Giovanna Cordova in the creation of various shows on stage at the prestigious Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza on the occasion of the season “Muoiono gli dei che non sono cari ai giovani” directed by Giancarlo Marinelli.

With Caterina Simonelli director of the IF Prana company she signs the choreographies of the shows: Grow co. Produced by the Lombardi Tiezzi Company, Family affair, Scimmie, I sold my soul, Untill 84 and signs the direction of Until 84 2.0, shows produced by the IF Prana company with the support of the Tuscany region.

She was born in Viareggio in 1984, she trained in Nikolais technique, improvisation, release, contact, theater and pedagogy. Significant for her artistic education is her encounter with Carolyn Carlson, Paolo Mereu, Simona Bucci, Charlotte Zerbey and Alessandro Certini, with whom she studied for 5 years.
Since 2008 she has lived and worked in Amsterdam where she collaborates and studies with local and international artists such as Katie Duck, Kenzo Kusuda, Makiko Ito, Vincent Cacialano, Micheal Schumacher, Julyen Hamilton. Using and reworking various dance and theater techniques, over the years she has developed her particular approach to choreography based on improvisation and interdisciplinary research between dance, music and lights. In this method she uses the pictorial imagination as inspiration and the anatomical awareness of the body as a technical basis.

In 2011 she founded the MonoCollective company with which she creates the Falling trilogy and many other performances through which she develops her own language based on physical theater. Later with the creation of the piece On Being Ill, directed by Emese Csornai (visual artist) she creates a method to translate a visual concept into motion. This method inspired Silvia and her colleague to start The Pool project, which involves 4 media, dance, music, lighting and anthropology.

Since 2009 Bennett has created many performances for children with the support of the 2TurvenHoog festival, directed by Ingrid Woolf, the shows are based on Childhood and improvisation research developed with Makiko Ito in the Wonderland project and later reworked by Bennett applying the principles of pedagogy and theater to the relationship with childhood, from which the text Stage Diary is also born.

Since 2015 she has collaborated with various Italian companies such as Company Blu, Aldes, Compagnia Simona Bucci, IF Prana, Tema Cultura. She is invited to give workshops at Magpie summer workshop (directed by Katie Duck-Amsterdam), Tias (Canary Islands), Spiel Festival (Austria), Dance activists (Florence), La Palestra (Vicenza).
